This is your chance to be part of our Americas Planning and Business Operations team, directly responsible for the strategy, project management, and execution of the most important business initiatives for the Americas team. As the Director, Planning and Business Operations, Americas, you will report into the Senior Director of Business Planning and Operations and work with members of the Americas Leadership Team. Your collaboration will focus on delivering projects that enhance the guest experience and advance important enterprise priorities. You are a project manager who can move among strategy, analytics, and execution, holds an understanding of hotel operations, and can serve as a trusted partner to leaders.
What You'll Do During a Typical Day
- Partner with members of the Americas Leadership team to establish priority projects for the region.
- Gain understanding of a matrixed team to create project charters clarifying scope, objectives, milestones, governance models, and success measures.
- Guide important projects forward while implementing both short- and long-term initiatives and providing concise updates to leadership.
- Manage a direct report to support important projects.
- Prepare materials and presentations for high levels of leadership while managing socialization processes and incorporating feedback from multiple teams– types of deliverables include strategy decks, business cases, and leadership presentations.
How You'll Collaborate With Others
- Be a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Americas Leadership team.
- Partner with functions within the enterprise to collaborate on driving important initiatives forward and advocating for prioritization across the business.
- Engage with teams to ensure property-level and Hotel Operations team feedback is integrated into corporate initiatives. Also, serve as an advocate for properties on enterprise projects
Projects You'll Take Ownership Of
- Develop clear strategies / recommendations and business cases for the Americas-wide projects.
- Project manage these projects, often times working across departments.
- Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
- Use and track data to provide regular updates to leaders on main strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate working sessions to gather insights, brainstorm solutions, and build alignment.
What It Takes to Make the Stay
You Have These Minimum Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of work experience
- Four (4) years project management experience, implementing strategic initiatives and executive-level client-facing presentations
- Three (3) years of Hospitality operations experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, in creating strategy decks / business cases
- Experience navigating a corporate matrix environment
It Would Be Useful If You Have
- BA/BS Bachelor's degree
- On-property hotel experience at the Director level
- Familiarity with storytelling with data or high-level data analysis
