The Role:
We are seeking an experienced, proactive Fractional CFO to lead the financial operations for two independent hotel properties (Comfort Inns) located in Redding, CA / Klamath Falls, OR. We operate on a fully automated, cloud-based tech stack (QuickBooks Online, ChoiceAdvantage).
This is not a traditional bookkeeping role. We are looking for a financial partner to own the entire financial function—ensuring our day-to-day operations are flawless while acting as a strategic advisor to optimize our profitability, manage vendor costs, and drive long-term business growth.
Core Responsibilities:
- Full-Charge Bookkeeping: Oversee daily revenue reconciliations from the PMS, ensure accurate and timely accounts payable (AP) processing, and manage accounts receivable (AR).
- Strategic Financial Management:
- Vendor Negotiations: Proactively review, renew, and negotiate vendor contracts (e.g., linens, waste management, utilities, insurance) to maximize our margins.
- Pricing & Revenue Strategy: Analyze monthly KPIs (RevPAR, GOPPAR) to assist in room-rate pricing strategies and operational decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Maintain a standardized Chart of Accounts (COA) for both properties to enable side-by-side performance analysis and deliver monthly "Controller-level" P&L summaries.
- Operational Control:
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage occupancy tax compliance and payroll integration (e.g., Gusto/ADP).
- Establish and maintain internal controls to prevent revenue leakage and ensure financial integrity.
- Weekly Management Pulse: Participate in a standing 30-minute weekly management sync (via Zoom or in-person) to review cash flow, address outstanding AP/AR, discuss vendor contracts, and align on upcoming strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Hospitality Expertise: Proven experience in hotel/hospitality accounting.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of QuickBooks Online and experience integrating PMS software with accounting platforms.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex financial data in plain English and translate those numbers into actionable business decisions.
- Efficiency Mindset: Must be comfortable working in a paperless, automated environment.
- Local Presence: Preference for candidates in the Redding/Klamath Falls area who are available for occasional onsite site visits.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Redding, CA 96002
