Robert Half is currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations and provide strategic guidance for our client in Kingston, Tennessee. This role oversees core accounting activities, strengthens financial controls, and supports informed business decisions through accurate reporting and forecasting. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a process-minded approach, and the ability to improve procedures while maintaining day-to-day financial accuracy.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the company’s financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial analysis to support business goals.
• Oversee month-end and period-end close processes, ensuring journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and review financial statements, offering clear insight into performance, risks, and opportunities for leadership stakeholders.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain healthy cash flow and support efficient transaction processing.
• Establish, document, and refine departmental standard operating procedures to improve consistency, compliance, and overall efficiency.
• Lead process improvement efforts across finance and accounting operations to strengthen controls and streamline workflows.
• Supervise account reconciliations, including bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, to ensure the integrity of financial records.
• Oversee personal property tax reporting and related financial compliance requirements in accordance with applicable regulations.
The position will require a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a CPA is preferred. The position is 100% onsite and will require some to live in the local Knoxville or surrounding areas

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance or accounting leadership experience, including responsibility for organizational financial oversight.
• Proven expertise in month-end close, journal entries, and the preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial results to support executive decision-making.
• Hands-on experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes across multiple account types.
• Demonstrated ability to create and improve departmental procedures and implement operational enhancements within finance functions.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and strong working knowledge of core accounting systems and reporting tools.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
