New Edge Associates, a Talent Acquisition Firm, is partnering with a growing credit union seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization’s financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth initiatives. This executive leadership role will oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory reporting, asset/liability management, and strategic financial planning.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and hands-on financial leader with strong experience within a financial institution or credit union environment. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to drive operational efficiency, profitability, and organizational growth. Experience supporting or growing EFT and credit card programs is highly preferred, particularly with a focus on increasing revenue generation and member engagement.
Job Requirements
- Lead the overall financial strategy and fiscal management of the credit union
- Oversee accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions
- Develop and manage annual budgets, financial projections, and long-term strategic plans
- Monitor financial performance, liquidity, capital levels, and operational efficiency
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, audit, and reporting requirements
- Oversee asset/liability management (ALM), investment strategies, and financial risk management
- Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, vendors, and external partners
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, profitability, and financial performance
- Support growth initiatives across lending, deposits, payments, and member services
- Collaborate with leadership to enhance EFT and credit card programs to drive revenue growth and member utilization
- Oversee internal controls, policies, and financial governance procedures
- Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams while fostering a collaborative culture
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
- CPA, MBA, or advanced financial certification preferred
- Minimum 7 years of financial leadership experience within a bank, credit union, or financial institution required
- Previous CFO, Controller, Finance Director, or senior financial management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, ALM, and regulatory compliance
- Experience within a credit union environment strongly preferred
- Experience supporting EFT, debit card, credit card, or payments programs preferred
- Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and revenue growth initiatives
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning abilities
- Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership and boards
- High level of professionalism, analytical ability, and business acumen
