Job Description
The Finance Director/CFO, under the supervision of the President, is responsible for leading and overseeing all financial operations of the company. This includes strategic planning, execution, and management of financial activities such as budgeting and forecasting, month-end close and reporting, and gross margin analysis by division. This role requires direct ownership of 13-week cash flow projections and borrowing base certificates, ensuring the company maintains adequate liquidity and compliance with financing agreements. This is a fully onsite position. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and actively manage a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and identify shortfalls in advance and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit borrowing base certificates in compliance with lending agreements.
- Monitor compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) as well as manage and execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Provide actionable insights on costs, margins, and profitability.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts and analyze variances to budget or forecast.
- Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities.
- Coordinate with external CPA firm on annual audit, prepare required financial schedules, gather supporting documentation, and ensure timely responses to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings, payroll reporting, and regulatory requirements as well as establish and enforce internal controls and financial procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications/Skills
- Excellent leadership skills, with high integrity and ability to manage confidential financial data
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial leadership
- Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- MBA or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
- 5-10+ years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices.
- Experience in a senior management position.
- Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
