The Opportunity
Alteris Consulting is seeking a highly strategic and operationally focused Fractional CFO to support the next phase of growth across a multi-entity consulting and professional services organization.
This role is ideal for an experienced finance leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and combines executive-level financial strategy with hands-on execution.
You will work directly with ownership and leadership to:
- Strengthen financial visibility
- Improve operational discipline
- Support scaling initiatives
- Build financial infrastructure for long-term growth
Key Responsibilities: Financial Leadership & Operations
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning
- Develop KPI frameworks and executive reporting dashboards
- Build consolidated reporting across multiple operating companies
- Improve financial controls, reporting cadence, and operational visibility
Strategic Planning & Growth
- Support strategic planning and profitability analysis
- Provide insight into pricing, margins, and engagement performance
- Partner with leadership on hiring, scaling, and investment decisions
- Improve visibility into resource utilization and delivery economics
Capital Planning & Banking
- Support capital planning and financing strategy
- Prepare lender-ready financials, forecasts, and reporting packages
- Manage external relationships (accounting, tax, banking, advisors)
- Optimize working capital and balance sheet structure
Scaling & Infrastructure
- Build scalable financial systems and reporting processes
- Support multi-entity structure alignment and consolidation
- Enhance operational discipline and financial accountability
- Contribute to long-term financial and organizational strategy
Ideal Background
- CPA, CFA, or senior finance executive experience
- Previous CFO or Fractional CFO experience in:
- Consulting
- Professional services
- Technology or engineering consulting
- Staffing or project-based services
- Proven experience supporting founder-led companies through growth and scaling
Core Expertise
Strong understanding of consulting and professional services models, including:
- Utilization and billable resource management
- Project-based revenue forecasting
- Engagement margin and profitability analysis
- Contractor and workforce planning
- Client delivery economics
- Managed services and recurring revenue models
Additional Experience (Preferred)
- Multi-entity corporate structures
- Capital planning, financing, or banking relationships
- Government funding, grants, or innovation programs
- Preparing financial materials for lenders, investors, or partners
- Strategic investment evaluation and expansion planning
