ABOUT RG3 METER COMPANY
RG3 Meter Company is a family-owned American manufacturer based in Longview, TX, with a focus on water and gas utility metering and automation. We design and manufacture automated meter reading (AMR) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) systems, software, and positive displacement, turbine, and ultrasonic water meters — giving utilities the tools to remotely read, monitor, and manage their meters at scale. From small rural water districts to large municipal systems, our customers rely on RG3 for both the hardware and the technology behind it.
Our customers are primarily municipal water and gas utilities, rural water districts, and public works departments across the country. We sell through a national distributor network supported by outside field salespeople, and a major focus of this role is making sure our distributors and channel partners have everything they need to succeed and to sell RG3 products easily and confidently.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Sales Operations Manager to build and manage our sales operations team. This is a high-variety, high-impact role spanning inside sales support, quoting, proposal production, pipeline management, distributor and channel partner support, marketing, and day-to-day management of our outside sales team.
You do not need experience in every function listed. We will train you on the technical and industry-specific aspects of this role. What you must bring is a strong, proven foundation in sales operations and coordination — the ability to keep multiple balls in the air, hold a sales team accountable, and build process where none exists.
This is the first hire in what will become a full sales operations team. As we grow, you will help write the job descriptions for each role we hire next, help select those people, and get them started. Done well, this role grows into a senior leadership position.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
▸ PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
• Fully manage and operate a key recurring customer program end to end — all tracking, follow-up, and internal coordination required to run it flawlessly
• Monitor active customer pilots nationally to ensure salespeople are following through appropriately
▸ INSIDE SALES & LEAD GENERATION
• Cold call targeted prospect lists to generate leads and set appointments for outside salespeople
• Research and document key contacts ahead of field visits so outside reps arrive prepared
• Conduct direct phone and email sales outreach on specific product lines
• Begin product qualification and approval processes with prospective customers, including municipalities evaluating AMR/AMI system upgrades or replacements
▸ QUOTING & PROPOSALS
• Produce accurate, professional quotations for end user customers to support field salespeople
• Support distributor efforts as the primary point of contact for quotes, product information, technical materials, and sales enablement
• Respond to bid, RFP, and RFQ opportunities nationally — requires strong writing skills and willingness to actively use AI tools to produce high-quality responses efficiently (training provided)
▸ DISTRIBUTOR & CHANNEL PARTNER SUPPORT
• Serve as the primary internal point of contact for distributors — respond quickly to requests for quotes, product info, technical materials, and sales support
• Reduce friction and make it as easy as possible for distributors to buy from and sell RG3 products
• Set up and run quarterly pipeline reviews with each distributor and outside salesperson
• Support distributor sales reps in the field with technical answers, collateral, and whatever they need to close
▸ SALES TEAM MANAGEMENT & PIPELINE
• Manage outside salespeople day to day — keep them on schedule, ensure CRM documentation is current, and hold them accountable to customer commitments
• Set up and facilitate quarterly pipeline reviews for leadership, distributors, and outside salespeople
▸ MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
• Manage email marketing campaigns including content development and execution
• Coordinate graphics design for product brochures and sales materials
• Content creation via video and print media
• Post to LinkedIn on a regular schedule
• Support website optimization and social media advertising as needed
▸ EXECUTIVE SUPPORT
• Help leadership stay current on distributor and customer requests

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
✔ Must Have:
• 5+ years in sales operations, inside sales, or a hybrid coordinator role
• CRM mastery — setup, management, and enforcement of use by others
• Quotation and proposal production experience
• Experience managing or coordinating outside salespeople
• Comfortable making outbound cold calls
• Proven ability to build processes
• Self-directed with strong organizational discipline
• Excellent written communication skills
• Willing and eager to learn and use AI tools as part of daily work
★ Nice to Have:
• Water, gas utility, or municipal market background
• Familiarity with AMR/AMI systems or utility metering products
• Bid/RFP response experience in public sector or infrastructure
• Email marketing campaign management
• Project management experience
• Experience with Odoo or similar ERP/CRM platforms
• Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to improve speed and output quality

COMPENSATION & DETAILS
💰 Base Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience — discussed during interview process
🎯 Performance Bonus: Tied to pipeline growth, proposal output, and program performance
📍 Location: Fully remote — with periodic on-site work at our Greenville, SC office (especially during onboarding and initial setup) and occasional trips to our Longview, TX facility for training
✈️ Travel: Limited — rare trips for training, distributor reviews, or trade events; not a traveling role
📈 Growth Path: Sales Operations Director as the team builds out
