Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of a healthcare organization. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial management, revenue integrity, accounting, purchasing, patient access, and health information operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and hands-on leader who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Revenue Cycle Leadership
- Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and revenue integrity.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and protect organizational assets.
- Lead month-end and year-end financial processes, reporting, and analysis.
- Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
- Supervise accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, patient accounting, reimbursements, and cash management.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on capital planning and long-term financial strategy.
Purchasing & Materials Management
- Oversee purchasing and materials management operations.
- Develop processes and controls to improve inventory management and purchasing efficiency.
- Support operational departments with supply chain and procurement initiatives.
Operational Leadership
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop departmental staff.
- Support operational improvements related to productivity, efficiency, and team performance.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, GAAP standards, and internal policies.
- Maintain strong working relationships with physicians, leadership teams, and staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred but not required.
- 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience within a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare finance, budgeting, GAAP, revenue cycle operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience required.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
