The Opportunity
JMAC Group is seeking an exceptional Strategic Chief Financial Officer(CFO) to join the business at a pivotal stage of growth and transformation.
This is not a traditional CFO role.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will operate as a true strategic partner to the leadership team at a Group level, with substantial autonomy and influence across the Group’s commercial, operational, financial, acquisition, investment, and international growth activities.

The Role
The Strategic CFO will lead the Group’s financial, commercial, and strategic agenda while helping shape the future direction of the business alongside the CEO.
The role extends significantly beyond traditional finance leadership and will involve active participation in:
- Corporate strategy
- M&A activity

The CFO will be expected to challenge, influence, and support strategic decision-making across the Group while ensuring the organisation has the financial infrastructure, governance, reporting capability, and commercial discipline required to scale successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Partner directly with the CEO to define and execute the Group’s long-term growth strategy
- Develop scalable financial and operational structures capable of supporting rapid growth and acquisition activity
- Drive initiatives focused on increasing profitability, cash generation, scalability, and enterprise value
- Provide strategic commercial leadership across all Group entities and future ventures
- Support strategic decision-making relating to expansion, investment, partnerships, and diversification opportunities
- Contribute at Board level as a key strategic advisor and executive leader
Mergers, Acquisitions &Investment Activity
- Lead the Group’s acquisition and investment strategy from a financial and commercial perspective
- Evaluate acquisition targets, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities
- Oversee financial modelling, valuation analysis, due diligence, transaction support, and integration planning.
- Work alongside legal, tax, and corporate advisors during transaction processes
- Develop post-acquisition integration strategies focused on operational alignment and value realisation
- Support funding and capital structuring initiatives associated with future growth
Commercial& Operational Leadership
- Drive commercial performance across the Group through strong financial insight and operational support.
- Influence pricing strategies, contract negotiations, procurement decisions, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with operational leadership teams to ensure financial discipline and performance accountability
- Support tender reviews and commercial assessments to ensure sustainable and profitable growth
- Identify operational efficiencies and strategic cost optimisation opportunities
- Review asset utilisation linked to further investment strategies for current and future investment activities linked to ROCE.
Global Structure, Supply Chain & Market Expansion
- Support the development of an international corporate and operational structure capable of supporting global growth
- Influence strategic supply chain decisions, procurement strategy, and international supplier relationships
- Support the identification of new international market opportunities and commercial partnerships
- Assist in evaluating overseas expansion opportunities, distribution models, and strategic alliances
- Work closely with leadership to improve supply chain resilience, scalability, and commercial performance
- Support the Group’s positioning within international markets and future global growth initiative.
Financial Strategy& Governance
- Lead all Group financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting activities
- Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, risk management, and internal control frameworks
- Manage Group cash flow, working capital, and financial risk exposure
- Develop sophisticated KPI reporting and performance analysis frameworks
- Oversee statutory reporting, tax strategy, audit management, and banking relationships
- Ensure the Group maintains strong financial credibility with lenders, investors, advisors, and stakeholders
- Lead the ongoing development of ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and operational reporting infrastructure
Leadership& Culture
- Build and lead a high-performing finance function aligned with the Group’s long-term ambitions
- Foster a culture of accountability, commercial awareness, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Support leadership development across the organisation through strategic financial insight and mentorship
- Operate as a visible and influential executive leader across the wider business

Required Experience
- Proven experience operating at CFO, or equivalent executive level leadership
- Strong track record supporting business growth, transformation, and commercial performance improvement
- Demonstrable experience in mergers& acquisitions, investment activity, restructuring, or strategic expansion initiatives.
- Experience operating within entrepreneurial, founder-led, or multi-entity business environments
- Strong exposure to commercial negotiations, funding structures, and strategic financial planning
- Experience building scalable financial infrastructure and governance frameworks
- Ability to operate effectively as both a strategic advisor and hands-on commercial leader
- Experience within industrial services, engineering, construction, infrastructure, plant hire, or related sectors would be advantageous
- Experience influencing international supply chains, procurement strategy, or global expansion initiatives would be highly desirable
