The company is seeking a hands-on, strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a trusted business partner to ownership and the executive leadership team. This role offers significant influence across finance, operations, technology, risk management, and administration.
This is not a purely corporate finance position. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between high-level strategic planning and day-to-day operational problem-solving in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Manufacturing
- Lead all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Oversee cost accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Evaluate capital investment opportunities and provide ROI analysis.
- Drive profitability improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Manage banking relationships, audits, tax planning, and corporate tax compliance.
Systems, IT & Operations
- Oversee ERP systems, reporting integrity, and process discipline.
- Direct IT strategy, cybersecurity initiatives, and technology infrastructure through internal and external resources.
- Ensure payroll and employee data processes are accurate and compliant.
- Support operational teams in resolving critical business issues.
Risk Management, Benefits & Administration
- Manage business insurance programs, including property, casualty, liability, and workers’ compensation.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, including 401(k) and health insurance plans.
- Lead annual renewals and maintain broker relationships.
- Develop, mentor, and manage the accounting and finance team, including payroll, AP, and AR functions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of senior finance leadership experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience required.
- Packaging, printing, or related industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with importing and international business strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems; manufacturing ERP experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with financial reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a privately held organization.
