Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, hybrid role based in Michigan City, IN. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-term financial planning. Daily responsibilities include managing financial statements and reporting, ensuring timely month-end and year-end closes, and maintaining accurate general ledger records. The CFO will develop and monitor key financial metrics, analyze business performance, and provide strategic recommendations to the executive team to support growth and profitability. The role includes overseeing banking relationships, audits, and compliance with relevant regulations, as well as implementing and improving financial controls, policies, and procedures. The CFO will lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, collaborate closely with operations and sales leadership, and support major investment and capital expenditure decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance, including corporate finance principles and capital structure management.
- Demonstrated expertise in Financial Planning and budgeting, including forecasting and long-range financial modeling.
- Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
- Progressive financial leadership experience, ideally including experience as a controller, VP of finance, or CFO in an industrial, manufacturing, or related environment.
- Proven experience managing cash flow, banking relationships, audits, and compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and a hands-on approach suited to a family-run, growth-focused business.
