Our client is an established, privately held manufacturing and distribution company serving the commercial construction market. As their Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as a true business partner to ownership, the CEO, and senior leadership while bringing structure, insight, and accountability across the business. Additionally, you’ll oversee the Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology (IT), and Purchasing functions to ensure effective administrative and operational support across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, ownership, and executive leadership team on financial performance, profitability, cash flow, capital allocation, and growth initiatives
- Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger, monthly reporting, tax coordination, audit support, internal controls, and compliance
- Develop financial models, cash flow forecasts, performance dashboards, and management reporting tools to support better decision-making
- Monitor business performance, margin trends, working capital, cash flow, and key operating metrics
- Partner with operational leadership to provide profitability analysis, variance analysis, and financial insight across products, customers, projects, and business functions
- Manage banking, lender, and financial institution relationships, including financing agreements, lines of credit, covenant reporting, and debt compliance
- Evaluate financing alternatives, capital structure opportunities, and cash management strategies
- Lead and develop the company’s accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and controllership functions
- Provide executive oversight of Information Technology, including systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, ERP capabilities, and technology-related business support
- Provide executive oversight of Purchasing, including vendor relationships, procurement processes, purchasing discipline, and cost efficiency
- Drive process improvement, reporting discipline, system enhancements, and scalable infrastructure across the organization
- Help strengthen operational visibility, financial accountability, and decision-making rigor throughout the business
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Finance and accounting experience in manufacturing, construction-related products, distribution, or project-based industries
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, working capital, banking relationships, and lender compliance
- Demonstrated ability to lead accounting, finance, and cross-functional administrative teams
- Strong operational business acumen with the ability to partner effectively across departments
- Experience with ERP systems, process improvement, reporting tools, and financial infrastructure preferred
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate strategically while staying close to the details
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with ownership, executive leadership, lenders, vendors, and internal teams
