Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – CPA Required
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite/In Office)
Compensation: Base salary up to $275K DOE + Performance Bonus + Full Benefits
Position Overview
Tiello is currently partnered with a growing restoration and construction organization in their search for an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations. This executive leadership role will oversee financial management for two restoration franchise locations in Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC, as well as three additional operating entities managed from the Charlotte office.
The CFO will serve as a key business partner to ownership and executive leadership, providing financial guidance, operational insight, and strategic planning to support continued growth across multiple entities. This individual will oversee the Controller and Auditor while ensuring financial accuracy, accountability, and scalability throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience within restoration, construction, roofing, home services, or franchise-based businesses and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive financial leadership for:
- Charlotte, NC Restoration Franchise
- Charleston, SC Restoration Franchise
- Three additional operating entities managed through the Charlotte office
- Lead all budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cash flow management activities across all entities.
- Develop and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and performance analysis to ownership and executive leadership.
- Manage consolidated and entity-specific financial statements and reporting.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies.
- Partner with operational leadership to improve profitability, efficiency, and financial performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), job costing, WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and project profitability.
- Manage banking relationships, financing activities, credit facilities, and capital planning.
- Coordinate tax planning, audits, and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Evaluate business expansion opportunities, acquisitions, and organizational growth initiatives.
- Directly manage and mentor the Controller and Auditor, fostering accountability and professional development.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices across all financial functions.
Qualifications
- Active CPA designation required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
- Prior CFO, VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, or equivalent executive finance experience preferred.
- Experience managing financial operations across multiple entities and locations.
- Strong understanding of construction accounting, restoration accounting, franchise operations, and project-based financial management.
- Experience overseeing audits, compliance, tax strategy, and banking relationships.
- Proven ability to lead and develop accounting and finance teams.
- Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
