About the role
We are seeking a strategicand forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team and help shape the next stage of our growth. Reporting directly to the Partners, the CFO will serve as a trusted advisor and business partner, providing financial leadership that strengthens decision-making, drives operational excellence and supports long-term value creation.
This role will lead all financial functions while building the scalable systems, insights, and discipline needed to support a high-performance organization.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Serve as a trusted strategic partner to the Partners and executive team, shaping financial strategy, capital allocation, and long-term growth planning
- Lead enterprise-wide financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling to support a seasonal, project-driven and rapidly evolving business
- Provide forward-looking, data-driven insights and recommendations to guide pricing, investments, and expansion initiatives
Financial Operations & Governance
- Oversee all financial functions including accounting, treasury, tax, payroll, and internal controls
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS)
- Establish and maintain rigorous financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, financial institutions, and advisors
Project & Operational Finance
- Lead project profitability analysis, tracking labor, equipment utilization, and material costs across complex AV installations and productions
- Implement scalable, disciplined processes for job costing, margin optimization, and performance tracking
- Oversee asset and inventory management, including depreciation, leasing, and lifecycle management of high-value, mission-critical AV equipment
- Partner with sales and operations to ensure profitable, strategically aligned contract structures and pricing strategies
Liquidity, Cash Flow & Capital Management
- Manage the company’s cash flow and liquidity position, balancing seasonal revenue cycles and project-based variability
- Optimize working capital, including accounts receivable, payables, and billing terms
- Provide recommendations on capital expenditures, financing strategies, and capital structure optimization to support sustainable growth
Systems, Process & Team Leadership
- Lead the development and enhancement of financial systems, reporting infrastructure, and analytics capabilities
- Identify and implement process and automation improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Oversee internal and/or external accounting resources to ensure alignment, accountability and high-quality performance
Qualifications
- CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; MBA or advanced degree considered a strong asset
- 15+ years of progressive senior-level finance experience, including senior leadership roles (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent)
- Proven track record driving financial strategy, capital planning, and operational finance functions
- Experience in audio/visual, technology integration, media, production, or other complex project-based environments strongly preferred
- Deep expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS)
- Advanced capabilities in FP&A, financial modeling, performance analysis, and insight-driven decision support
- Strong experience managing project-based accounting, cost structures, margin optimization, and end to end profitability analysis
- Demonstrated success managing cash flow, liquidity, and working capital in seasonal or cyclical or high-variability businesses
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
- Strategic, hands-on executive with strong business acumen, and stakeholder management skills
- Candidates with the ability to commute regularly to the office will be preferred
