Are you motivated by building and scaling a finance function in a successful, growing business? Do you bring both strategic insight and hands-on execution? Can you translate financial data into clear, actionable direction for leadership?
We’re partnering with a well-established, privately held manufacturing company with deep roots in Vaughan, Ontario. Backed by a strong and loyal customer base across North America, the business is at an inflection point, with ownership committed to strengthening its financial infrastructure and building the rigor and visibility needed to support its next stage of growth.
The incoming CFO will assume a highly trusted, high-impact role, working closely with the CEO and ownership group to shape the company’s future. This is a hands-on mandate suited to a leader who can seamlessly move between strategic discussions in the boardroom and detailed operational analysis – whether that’s refining systems and processes, developing the finance team, or diving into gross margin performance at the SKU level.
The Mandate
The CFO will be responsible for building a robust, scalable finance function to support the company’s continued growth. Key priorities include enhancing the quality and timeliness of financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and elevating forecasting, KPI tracking, and visibility into costing, margins, and overall performance.
As a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, the CFO will provide actionable insights on pricing, profitability, and operational effectiveness, helping guide the business toward greater structure, discipline, and informed decision-making. A critical near-term objective will be preparing the organization for its first external audit by ensuring the appropriate systems, controls, and documentation are in place.
Key responsibilities will also include leading a disciplined FP&A function, delivering meaningful analytics and insights to inform strategy, driving sustainable growth and operational efficiency, building a high-performing finance team, and maintaining strong relationships with ownership and external stakeholders.
Leadership and Stewardship
The company is seeking a CFO who leads with maturity and earns trust through action. This is not a role for someone who relies on title or tenure to get things done. The culture here rewards people who show up prepared, communicate clearly, and follow through.
- Operates with humility, credibility, and sound judgment
- Brings a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
- Communicates clearly and influences at all levels
- Partners effectively with operators to drive business outcomes
- Leads with integrity, accountability, and transparency.
Ideal Background
Candidates will bring experience that enables them to support a growing, product-based business while strengthening financial rigor:
- CFO or senior finance leadership experience in manufacturing or product-based environments
- Strong experience with costing, inventory, and margin analysis
- Track record of finance transformation and process improvement
- Experience preparing for or leading audits
- ERP and systems optimization experience
- CPA designation is required
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership position at a critical stage in a company’s evolution — where you will have the authority, the relationships, and the mandate to build something lasting. The business is profitable and growing. The ownership group is engaged and supportive. And the work is real — your decisions will have a direct and visible impact on the performance and trajectory of the company.
If you’re ready to make an impact and help shape the future, we encourage you to apply in confidence.
