The company operates a tasting room in Hudson, New York and owns and manages a vineyard on the west side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes wine region.

Position Summary
The Business Operations Manager serves as the operational backbone of Neverstill Wines, overseeing day-to-day business operations across vineyard management, production coordination, packaging, inventory, logistics, compliance, distribution partnerships, wine club fulfillment, e-commerce operations, and administration.
This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and works directly with the Founder & CEO to execute the company's operational strategy, manage growth initiatives, and ensure excellence across all operational functions. The role requires regular coordination with the company's vineyard operations in the Finger Lakes and periodic travel between company locations and production partners.
This role works collaboratively with the Experience Manager to ensure alignment between operational execution and the customer experience. Together, these positions support the successful operation of the business while maintaining the high standards of hospitality, service, and brand presentation that define Neverstill Wines.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Administration
- Manage daily business operations across all company functions.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, workflows, and systems.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service providers.
- Manage operational budgets and expenses.
- Support ownership with planning, forecasting, reporting, and special projects.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability.
- Partner closely with the Experience Manager to coordinate operational priorities, inventory planning, wine club fulfillment, customer communications, and business initiatives that support a seamless customer experience.
Vineyard & Production Coordination
- Serve as the primary operational liaison with vineyard managers, growers, and winemaking partners.
- Oversee vineyard management activities and ensure alignment with company quality and production objectives.
- Coordinate annual production timelines including harvest logistics, fruit procurement, bottling schedules, and inventory planning.
- Monitor vineyard, production, and bulk wine inventories.
- Assist in forecasting wine production and inventory requirements.
- Coordinate packaging projects including bottles, labels, capsules, cartons, and other dry goods.
- Ensure all packaging materials are sourced, ordered, and delivered according to production schedules.
Inventory, Logistics & Distribution
- Maintain accurate wine inventory across warehouses, storage facilities, fulfillment operations, and distribution channels.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, including winery transfers, distributor shipments, and direct-to-consumer fulfillment.
- Manage inventory reconciliations and operational reporting.
- Oversee shipping supplies, packaging inventory, and warehouse organization.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, brokers, warehouses, and logistics providers.
- Coordinate distributor onboarding, inventory allocations, shipment scheduling, and operational communications with distribution partners.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment across all channels.
Wine Club & E-Commerce Operations
- Oversee wine club fulfillment and membership operations.
- Manage seasonal wine club releases and shipment logistics.
- Monitor e-commerce fulfillment processes and customer service workflows.
- Maintain customer databases and operational systems supporting direct-to-consumer business.
- Support operational execution of customer communications, shipments, and membership benefits.
Compliance & Reporting
- Assist with winery compliance, licensing, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Coordinate documentation related to alcohol shipping, tax reporting, regulatory requirements, and distributor compliance.
- Maintain operational records and reporting systems.
- Support inventory valuation, operational forecasting, and business planning activities.
- Work closely with accounting and ownership to ensure accurate operational reporting.
Team Leadership
- Supervise operational support staff, contractors, and vendors as needed.
- Recruit, onboard, and train team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead by example with a proactive, hands-on approach.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive operational management experience.
- Direct experience within the beverage industry required; wine industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing inventory, logistics, fulfillment, vendor relationships, and operational systems.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and improve systems and processes within a growing business.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and operational software platforms.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, and other business locations as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and participate in harvest, inventory, and operational activities when necessary.
Preferred
- Experience in premium wine, craft beverage, spirits, or hospitality brands.
- Knowledge of vineyard operations, wine production processes, packaging, compliance, and distribution.
- Familiarity with Commerce7, QuickBooks, ShipCompliant, and inventory management systems.
- WSET certification or strong wine knowledge.
- Experience working within entrepreneurial or high-growth businesses.
