Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based at St. Croix Casino Turtle Lake in Turtle Lake, WI. The CFO oversees all financial operations for the St. Croix Casinos enterprise, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and long-term financial planning. This role manages the preparation and analysis of financial statements, financial reporting, and performance metrics for internal leadership, external partners, and regulatory bodies. The CFO collaborates closely with executive leadership and department heads to support strategic decision-making, capital projects, and business development initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading the finance and accounting teams, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, implementing robust internal controls, optimizing financial systems and processes, and presenting clear, data-driven insights to support sustainable growth.
Qualifications College degree in Business with an emphasis on Finance or Accounting preferred. Ten (10) years management experience preferred. Must be able to interpret and prepare financial statements. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be knowledgeable of Payroll, Accounting, General Ledger, Revenue, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Strong foundation in Finance, with demonstrated expertise in Financial Planning and Financial Reporting.
- Proven experience preparing, interpreting, and presenting Financial Statements for senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and recommend actionable strategies.
- Extensive leadership experience managing finance and accounting teams in a complex, multi-location or hospitality/gaming environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA, MBA, or other relevant advanced certification strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and compliance requirements; experience with tribal gaming or highly regulated industries is a plus.
- Proficiency with financial systems, ERP software, and advanced Excel skills; ability to drive process improvements and system enhancements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to operate on-site, build strong relationships across departments.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all financial services and Accounting and Finance employees of all St Croix Casinos, to include the departments of Finance (Cage/Vault) Payroll, and Revenue Audit. Reports to CEO of Gaming.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must have the ability to understand accounting software. Must have excellent communication skills; verbal and written. Must be able to listen and respond to visual and oral signals. Must have the ability to work independently and make sound business and management decisions. Must be able to handle multiple projects with the ability to prioritize such projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Oversee all financial activities of the Casinos. Install and monitor all checks and balances to protect the Casino assets. Determine quality of service for the Accounting and Finance departments. Develop efficient staffing patterns and schedules for the Accounting and Finance departments. Must provide CEO of Gaming, analysis of all departments and properties in a timely manner.
Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the position, adhere to and enforce all departmental and company policies, and attend all mandatory trainings. Must comply with and enforce all safety policies and rules.
