Job Summary
we are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the school's financial operations and contribute to its long-term growth and sustainability. The CFO will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, compliance, risk management, treasury, audits, and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. The role requires a strong understanding of educational institution finances, governance, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the school's financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with the CEO, Board, and senior leadership team on strategic planning and decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Lead long-term financial planning and capital expenditure strategies.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Monitor budget utilization and variance analysis.
- Establish financial controls and reporting mechanisms.
- Present periodic financial reports to management and governing bodies.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee accounting operations, financial statements, and management reporting.
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise finance, accounts, payroll, and procurement functions.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, investments, and fund utilization.
- Optimize financial resources and cost structures.
- Oversee banking operations and financial risk management.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team.
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Implement best practices in financial management and reporting.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
- MBA (Finance) preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in education, international schools, large institutions, or service organizations is preferred.
