Why This Role Exists
Prometheus Groups CRO’s office needs an operational leader who owns the infrastructure that makes the sales team perform — not by coaching individual deals, but by ensuring the engine that produces pipeline, protects revenue, and develops sales talent runs at an inspectable standard across every region. This person owns three functions: Renewals, BDR, and Sales Enablement.
This is a career-defining seat. You sit at the CRO’s right hand, learning how a global GTM organization operates by cutting across departments and owning real outcomes. The VP title is available to the person who earns it by making these three functions measurably better.
What You Own
Renewals
You own the renewal book: forecasting renewal revenue, inspecting execution across regions, enforcing pricing discipline, and flagging at-risk accounts before they become escalations. Every renewal is a commercial conversation, not an administrative one. No silent downsells, no multi-year rates on short-term extensions, no concessions without commitments in return.
Business Development (BDR)
You own top-of-funnel pipeline generation. Hiring profiles, activity standards, lead-to-opportunity conversion quality, and the handoff to AE/AM teams. You hold BDR managers accountable to pipeline targets, not activity metrics. Pipeline that doesn’t convert is noise.
Sales Enablement
You own what the sales team knows and how fast new hires become productive. Onboarding, skills development, content management, and product training. The critical difference: you measure whether enablement changes behavior, not just whether it was delivered. Enablement that ships but doesn’t stick is the same as enablement that doesn’t exist.
How You Operate
- Weekly cadence with the CRO: renewals forecast, BDR pipeline results, enablement impact. Data and exceptions, not status updates.
- Cross-regional inspection. You have line of sight into every region and flag variance before it compounds.
- Direct accountability with Directors. If renewal execution or BDR conversion is below standard, you name it and work the fix without waiting for the CRO to intervene.
- Build systems, not heroics. If a process breaks when you’re not watching, it’s not a system.
- Cut across departments. This role touches Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product. You learn where the seams are — because the seams are where revenue leaks.
- Learn by operating alongside the CRO — deal reviews, forecast calls, leadership sessions. The exposure is the development. What you do with it determines your trajectory.
What You Bring
Required
- 5+ years in B2B enterprise software: sales operations, revenue operations, or a commercial leadership role.
- You have managed teams and been accountable for commercial outcomes, not just designed programs.
- Salesforce fluency — pipeline management, forecasting mechanics, CRM inspection. Reporting that drives decisions, not decorates decks.
- Cross-regional operating experience. You know how to hold a standard across geographies
- The confidence to challenge senior sales leaders directly, with data, without drama.
- Hunger. You want to learn how a CRO runs a global commercial organization and you’re willing to earn that education through operational work.
Preferred
- Industrial or asset-intensive software experience (oil and gas, utilities, mining, manufacturing).
- Comfort with AI tools. Prometheus is AI-forward — the CRO’s office uses AI for coaching, content creation, and operational analysis.
- Experience building a function from scratch, not just optimizing an inherited one.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a deal coaching role. The CRO and Directors own deal strategy and customer-facing executive engagement. You own the operational infrastructure that makes those activities productive. This is also not a chief-of-staff or project management role — you own functions with direct reports, targets, and measurable outcomes. The CRO’s right hand is an operator, not an organizer.
