OBJECTIVE:
The Sales Operations Specialist is a client-facing role responsible for supporting sales operations across multiple consumer product client accounts. This person will help manage the flow of information between our clients, their retail partners and distributors, finance teams, and manufacturing partners.
The ideal candidate has experience working with physical products in a retail, wholesale, consumer goods, consumer electronics, CPG, accessories, or related environment. They are organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and enjoy working across different teams to support sales outcomes and client success.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Operations & Order Management
Manage day-to-day sales operations workflows across assigned client accounts, including:
- purchase order tracking
- open order management
- inventory levels
- shipment status
- backorder communication
- retail partner follow-up
- track and resolve credits, chargebacks, deductions, and claims
- clarify order, invoice, credit, inventory, and payment-related issues
Coordinate with client sales teams, retail partners, finance, and manufacturing team members to keep orders moving and issues visible
Coordinate non-sale transportation (events, promos, samples, and demo units) and maintain in-house warehouse stock
Support Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) processes with retail partners
Support Sales and Marketing team in retail demand planning, product and pricing coordination, materials development, and delivery to customer and partner as needed
Maintain sales operations trackers, including open orders, inventory/PSI trackers, pricing sheets, sample trackers, and account status reports
Client Account Support
- Collaborate with TargetPath Account leadership to deliver client value and drive client outcomes
- Act as an advocate for client requirements in internal TargetPath discussions
- Serve as a professional client-facing contact for sales operations support
- Provide as needed support for additional operations & logistics needs, including light customer service support, delivery issues, warehouse management, and logistics workflows
- Maintain task tracking systems as needed to ensure timely and accurate follow-up across internal and external teams
- Maintain strong knowledge of customer and partner programs and requirements
- Maintain strong knowledge of product line and new device roadmap
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, documentation, and processes
Manufacturing Partner Coordination
- Assist in coordination with China-based manufacturing partners to support product launch timelines, order status, sample needs, product availability, shipment readiness, and issue resolution.
- Ensure production priorities reflect customer requirements and commitments
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in sales operations, order management, account operations or a similar role, ideally with experience working with ERP and EDI systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust across clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Experience working with physical products in a retail, wholesale, consumer goods, consumer electronics, CPG, accessories, or related product-based environment
- Experience supporting retail partners, distributors, and e-commerce channels
- Strong understanding of purchase orders, open order management, inventory tracking, and pricing coordination
- Comfort working across time zones, including participation in early morning or evening coordination calls approximately twice per week
- Cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to navigate language differences, communication styles, and partner expectations with professionalism with global partners
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple clients, accounts, trackers, and deadlines at the same time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel required
- Able to work in a fast-paced consulting environment where client needs, systems, and processes may vary by account
Extra bonus points for:
- Hands-on experience working with Chinese OEM/ODM manufacturing partners — including managing production schedules, purchase orders, QC processes, and ex-factory freight coordination
- Trade show, product launch, or retail readiness logistics experience
