A great UHY client is seeking a CFO/Director. The ideal candidate will have public company experience including SOX compliance, technical accounting and accounting policy expertise, and cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
The CFO/Director role is a onsite position. This is a temporary, contract position.
CFO/Director Responsibilities
- Lead financial consolidation activities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across the organization.
- Review and optimize chart of accounts structures to support reporting, consolidation, and operational needs.
- Establish and improve month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting timelines.
- Develop and implement monthly financial reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, and key management reporting metrics.
- Evaluate accounting policies and technical accounting matters to ensure compliance with current accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead implementation of accounting policy updates and process improvements across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with public company reporting requirements, internal controls, and financial governance standards.
- Analyze and improve cost accounting processes, inventory valuation methodologies, and manufacturing accounting procedures.
- Assess financial risks and implement controls to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Lead the development and implementation of internal control frameworks and SOX compliance initiatives.
- Support Delegation of Authority (DoA) implementation and governance processes.
- Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights, recommendations, and strategic guidance.
- Collaborate with external auditors, consultants, and business stakeholders on accounting, reporting, and compliance matters.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting, finance, reporting, and operational processes.
- Support organizational growth, transformation initiatives, and business integration activities.
CFO/Director Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Public company experience, including financial reporting and SOX compliance requirements.
- Strong technical accounting and accounting policy experience.
- Experience evaluating and implementing accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with financial consolidations, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and improve internal control frameworks.
- Experience leading organizations through accounting transformations, process improvements, or compliance initiatives.
- Familiarity with Delegation of Authority (DoA) frameworks and governance processes is preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory valuation and manufacturing accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and partner effectively with executive leadership, auditors, and external advisors.
- Demonstrated success operating in dynamic, evolving business environments.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and professional judgment.
