Role Overview
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overall financial leadership of the organization, ensuring financial health, compliance, and strategic alignment with the company’s growth objectives. The role requires a highly self-driven professional capable of independently managing finance functions with broad guidance from the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Managing Director on financial matters, investments, and expansion opportunities.
- Drive profitability, cost optimization, and capital efficiency initiatives.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
- Support decision-making with data-driven financial models and analysis.
3. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Oversee accounting functions including general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and inventory accounting.
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to accounting standards (Ind AS / GAAP as applicable).
4. Manufacturing Finance & Cost Control
- Monitor product costing, cost of production, and operational efficiencies.
- Implement robust cost tracking systems for raw materials, labor, and overheads.
- Work closely with plant and operations teams to improve margins and reduce wastage.
5. Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (GST, Income Tax, TDS, Companies Act, etc.).
- Manage tax planning, filings, audits, and assessments.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
6. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Manage working capital efficiently including receivables, payables, and inventory cycles.
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds for operations and capital investments.
- Handle banking relationships, fund raising, and financial negotiations.
7. Risk Management
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Establish internal audit systems and financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure proper insurance coverage and regulatory risk management.
8. Team Management & Systems
- Build, lead, and mentor the finance and accounts team.
- Drive process improvements and automation in financial systems (ERP, MIS, etc.).
- Ensure efficient coordination between finance and other departments.
Key Requirements
Qualifications
- CMA, MBA Finance, CA Intermediate & Articleship completed
- Chartered Accountant (CA) Desirable
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in finance and accounts
- At least 5+ years in a leadership role
- Experience in manufacturing industry is essential. Domain specific experience in Aerospace & Defence Industry is desirable
