Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Finance and Accounting Executive to fill a Chief Financial Officer opening with an multi-entity company based in Oakland County, Michigan.
Requirements of the Chief Financial Officer
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters preferred.
- State Licensed CPA preferred
- Prior experience as a CFO, VP Finance, Corporate Controller or equivalent – minimum 5 years at a mid-size manufacturing company
- 10+ years total accounting or finance experience
- Working experience within an international sales with European HQ would be an advantage.
- Experience with manufacturing industry experience is required.
- Hands-On ERP Systems Experience
- Ability to manage regional Controlling, Tax, Sales and IT functions.
- Operational background in an organization of at least 100 employees
- Demonstrated ability to use appropriate judgement, independent thinking and creativity when resolving company issues.
- The ideal candidate will have prior finance, controlling, tax, auditing and operational accounting experience.
- Ability to effectively manage challenging situations.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Must be willing to travel up to 20%.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer
- Provide leadership, development, and execution of day-to-day planning, managing, and controlling for all financial related activities.
- Maintain appropriate internal control procedure to protect integrity of current systems and protections of company assets.
- Maintain working relationships with banking, auditing, legal and other outside professional consultants.
- Develop, drive, and implement process improvements and standardizations.
- Establish & control budgeting and expenses.
- Lead the strategic financial operations of the organization.
- Coordinate with CEO to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with parent company guidelines and Management Directives.
- Responsible for drawing up financial and tax accounts and statements, responsible to work with external and internal auditors and receive unqualified audit opinion prepares monthly financial and operating reports or special reports as needed for management in the North American and Global Head Quarters; appraises financial position of entities.
- Coordinates and administers rolling forecasts, annual and multi-year plans for the control of operations on a divisional and legal entity level. Such plans provide sales forecasts, expense budgets, profit planning, accounts receivable, cost standards and savings opportunities, and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to implement and track the plan.
- Ensures compliance with financial policies issued by the parent company. Responsible for formulation and issuance of policies and practices required to comply with U.S. local accounting & tax requirements.
- Ensures internal controls are implemented and kept within the region in accordance with group policies. Responsible for risk management in the region. Responsible for approving customer credit limit and terms above a pre-determined dollar amount. Assures proper insurance coverage.
