You'll partner directly with our principals and executive team to shape financial strategy, oversee accounting operations, and support our expansion into new markets. This role suits someone who's equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves operationally and advising at the ownership level — and who's energized, not rattled, by a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
What You'll Do
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Set financial strategy — short- and long-term — in partnership with the executive team
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the enterprise's principals, including on capital allocation
- Lead finance-driven change management initiatives across the organization
Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the accounting department: a controller, assistant controller, and staff of seven
- Own monthly financial reporting across all entities and the annual budgeting process
- Develop and grow the controller and assistant controller
Tax, Banking & Risk
- Manage relationships with outside CPAs on audits, reviews, income taxes, and consulting
- Lead income tax planning and identify tax minimization strategies
- Oversee cash flow management and forecasting, banking relationships, and the surety carrier/broker relationship
- Oversee the property and casualty insurance program
- Partner with in-house counsel on risk management and financial strategy
Growth & Affiliated Companies
- Advise general managers of affiliated companies and lead monthly strategy meetings with them
- Provide financial oversight on acquisitions and potential sales of affiliated companies
- Build financial models and financing strategies for real estate acquisitions and developments
- Help non-financial managers build financial fluency
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 10+ years of construction finance and accounting leadership experience
- A track record of helping organizations scale
- The ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial audiences
- Experience leading change management initiatives
- Flexibility and adaptability — you're energized by a fast-moving, transaction-heavy environment
