About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership for a healthcare organization. This executive will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, partnering closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term organizational success.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader with experience overseeing accounting, budgeting, revenue cycle, financial reporting, and operational finance within a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Oversee month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Develop annual operating and capital budgets and provide ongoing financial analysis against budget and forecasts.
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning, business growth, and operational decision-making.
- Monitor key financial performance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee revenue cycle operations to optimize collections, reduce denials, and improve overall financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and organizational policies.
- Support audit activities and maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Provide financial guidance to department leaders through reporting, education, and performance analysis.
- Evaluate financial feasibility of new programs, services, and capital investments.
- Lead and develop finance and business office staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or related field) preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience within a healthcare organization.
- Strong background in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience overseeing month-end close, expense management, and revenue cycle operations.
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies and financial operations.
- Proven leadership experience managing finance and accounting teams.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to partner with executive leadership and influence strategic business decisions.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with healthcare ERP or financial management systems.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance initiatives, and operational improvement efforts.
