Senior Business Operations AnalystCompany Description
Hallaton Manor is a residential care home in Leicestershire supporting residents with complex dementia, mental health conditions, trauma-related needs, and other challenging care requirements. We provide compassionate, person-centred care and work closely with families, healthcare professionals, local authorities, and external partners.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role supporting the Registered Manager and acting as a key operational partner to the Group CEO.
The role combines four main areas:
- Managing payroll, training, and compliance for approximately 25 staff.
- Maintaining bookkeeping records for revenues, invoices, payments, and business expenditure.
- Analysing financial data to identify cost trends, savings, and operational insights.
- Managing contractors, suppliers, and the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
The successful candidate will work independently, take ownership of operational issues, and build strong relationships with residents, families, local authorities, healthcare professionals, suppliers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate payroll, staff records, mandatory training, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of income, invoices, payments, and expenditure.
- Prepare reports and provide practical financial insights to senior leadership.
- Work regularly with operational and financial data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Manage contractor and supplier performance, quotations, costs, and negotiations.
- Support the Registered Manager with day-to-day business operations.
- Improve processes, controls, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Handle sensitive stakeholder discussions professionally and confidently.
Eligibility and Experience
- University degree in life sciences, business administration, healthcare management, or a related subject.
- Ability to drive (note: there is no public transport connection to the Care Home)
- Significant professional experience in healthcare, social care, NHS operations, care-home operations, or another regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of, or established relationships with, Leicestershire and regional local authorities or healthcare providers.
- Experience managing a small team of approximately three to four staff.
- Strong financial administration, bookkeeping, payroll, compliance, and analytical skills.
- Strong Excel skills are essential, as the role requires regular analysis and management of operational and financial data.
- Comfortable learning and using new software, systems, and digital tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on senior role without relying on a large supporting team.
This is not an entry-level position. It is suited to an experienced operations professional who is comfortable taking responsibility, exercising judgement, and working directly with senior leadership.
The role may be particularly suitable for someone with NHS operational experience seeking broader responsibility within a smaller, single-site organisation.
Career Progression
- Growth will come through increased responsibility and remuneration at Hallaton Manor, with the potential to progress to Operations Manager. Exceptional candidates may also progress into wider group or head-office operational roles.
