The client, a small, growing social services organization, is seeking a CFO to join their team to head up all aspects of accounting, finance, and grants compliance.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the Fiscal Department, including payroll, general ledger, AP/AR, and budgeting, while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee all contractual and grant management processes for federal, state, local and private funding streams.
- Provide high-level strategic financial direction to the agency and coordinate the preparation for timely, successful annual audits.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting personnel to maintain an exceptionally efficient and accurate internal financial system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or a related field) is required; Higher Education or CPA preferred
- At least 5 years of nonprofit accounting leadership experience, with a strong preference for background in federal or state grant programs and multi-revenue streams.
- Proven ability to manage, train, and coordinate accounting staff, analyze complex financial data, and provide strategic-level decision support.
