Sales Operations is a critical enabler of Insight’s commercial performance. The function drives efficiency, scalability, and data-driven decision-making across the sales organisation by optimising processes, systems, and governance.
The Sales Operations Manager is responsible for maximising sales productivity and effectiveness within a defined business segment by owning forecasting, planning, performance management, and operational execution. This role partners closely with Sales Leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecasting & Pipeline Management
- Own forecast cadence, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and transparency across pipeline, backlog, and bookings
- Monitor pipeline health and conversion trends; proactively identify risks and opportunities
- Performance Management & Analytics
- Analyse sales performance metrics and deliver actionable insights to Sales Directors
- Develop and maintain reporting packs, including QBRs, dashboards, and executive summaries
- Support resource allocation and territory optimisation through data-driven recommendations
- Planning & Governance
- Support annual planning, quota setting, and target allocation
- Drive account planning discipline and execution in partnership with sales leadership
- Provide forward-looking insights for budgeting and operational planning cycles
- Data & Systems Ownership
- Ensure data integrity across CRM and ERP systems to enable accurate reporting and forecasting
- Oversee system adoption, usage standards, and continuous process optimisation
- Manage and resolve sales operations workflow issues and escalations
- Process Optimisation
- Identify inefficiencies across the sales lifecycle and implement scalable, standardised processes
- Drive operational excellence initiatives across the region (e.g., EMEA alignment)
- Establish and enforce best practices for deal management, renewals, and pipeline hygiene
- Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with Sales Directors/Managers to drive execution against strategic priorities
- Influence senior stakeholders through data-backed insights and recommendations
- Lead and develop a high-performing sales operations capability
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, or commercial strategy roles
- Advanced proficiency in CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong analytical capability with experience translating data into business impact
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with high attention to detail
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership
