Position: Senior Salesforce CPQ Functional-technical Consultant
Location: Remote - India
Duration: 1 year
Manager is looking 80% Functional and 20% Technical
You’ll lead CPQ workstreams across New Product Introduction, continuous improvement, and broader transformation programs — making sure quoting stays simple, fast, accurate, and agile for our account teams as the product portfolio evolves.
When Product or Pricing brings a change, you’re the person who opens a sandbox, prototypes the config, and pressure-tests the idea end-to-end before the user story is finalized and handed to dev. You know the art of the possible in CPQ, you know when something needs to escalate, and you push back when a proposed approach doesn’t fit how CPQ actually behaves at scale.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Drive CPQ requirements end-to-end — from the first conversation with Product Management and Pricing & Packaging, through user story shape and acceptance criteria with Product Owners, to delivery. You own the thread.
- Prototype solutions hands-on in a sandbox before handing stories to dev, so the team is debating a working config instead of a slide.
- Build data mocks and walk them through with Product, Pricing, Deal Desk, and Order Management to lock alignment early.
- Partner with Product Owners and dev to keep the NPI cadence on time.
- Jump on incident triage when needed — help dev get to root cause and sanity-check the fix.
- Prep data grooms for backfills and cleanup.
- Feed clear inputs to enablement, process, and Product Owner teams for documentation and release notes.
- Run ad hoc reporting and SOQL pulls when a decision needs data behind it.
- Be the go-to person on CPQ for the downstream teams — Order Management, Revenue Recognition, and Analytics.
Required Skills:
- 10–12+ years of overall experience, with 6–8 years hands-on in Salesforce CPQ on complex, global orgs
- Functional lead / senior BSA / Product Owner profile — comfortable owning requirements through delivery, not just documenting them
- Hands-on-keyboard CPQ admin skills: products, bundles, options, configuration attributes, price rules, product rules, discount schedules, advanced approvals
- Proven stakeholder skills inside an NPI process — negotiating requirements, balancing process vs. tooling, and saying no when you need to
- Strong working partnership with IT, Product, Finance, Order Management, and end users
- Solid data skills: Excel, SOQL, SQL
- Working knowledge of how CPQ data and processes flow into downstream ERP systems
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud alongside CPQ
- Ability to handle CPQ and reference data sets in the hundreds of thousands of records without it becoming a problem
- Familiarity with Oracle Order Management, Product Data Hub, Subscription, and RMCS modules — enough to have an informed conversation with the teams that own them
- Comfortable in Jira (story management) and ServiceNow (incidents)
- Self-directed — you don’t wait to be told what’s next
- The interpersonal range to work across functions and the credibility to push back on management with alternatives, not just objections
- Nice to have: prior background in a pricing, solutions engineering, sales-support, or related operations role at a SaaS company
- Familiarity with data warehousing and public cloud is a bonus given what we do
