Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and strategic partner to the CEO, President, General Managers, and operational leaders across the organization.
This newly created role will be responsible for building and leading the future-state finance function while driving enterprise-wide financial strategy, planning, performance management, and operational decision support. The CFO will oversee the finance and technology functions while creating the infrastructure, processes, and organizational capabilities necessary to support continued growth and integration across multiple business units.
The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution, with experience leading finance organizations through periods of organic growth, acquisitions, transformation, ERP optimization, and organizational change. This individual will establish finance as a critical business partner by creating visibility into performance, improving planning capabilities, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.
- Develop and execute the organization's long-term financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead strategic planning, capital allocation, and enterprise growth initiatives.
- Partner closely with General Managers and operational leaders to improve business performance and drive accountability.
- Support future acquisitions, integrations, and expansion opportunities.
- Present financial performance, strategic recommendations, and business insights to ownership and leadership teams.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and operational discipline throughout the organization.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Build and lead a best-in-class FP&A function.
- Establish and/or enhance budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across all business units.
- Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting tools.
- Lead financial modeling, scenario planning, and profitability analysis.
- Oversee cash flow, liquidity and working capital performance in support of strategic growth initiatives and investments.
- Drive pricing, margin, cost savings, and operational performance initiatives.
- Deliver actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
Finance & Accounting Leadership
- Provide executive oversight of all accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, compliance, and ESOP matters.
- Establish and monitor financial governance, internal controls, and enterprise risk management practices
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all operating entities.
- In partnership with the Controller, oversee the performance of month-end close and associated reporting and financial processes.
- Support key financial relationships: banking, external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners
Technology, ERP & Process Transformation
- Provide executive oversight of finance systems, enterprise reporting, and master data, driving technology enablement and enterprise data governance
- Oversee IT leadership and align technology investments with business objectives.
- Lead ERP optimization efforts and support future entity integrations into a common technology platform.
- Drive automation initiatives that improve efficiency, reporting capabilities, and internal controls.
- Champion continuous improvement across finance and shared services processes.
- Establish scalable workflows and reporting structures that support organizational growth.
Organizational Leadership
- Build and develop a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting a complex, growing organization.
- Lead and mentor FP&A, accounting, shared services, and technology leaders.
- Establish clear accountability, ownership, and performance expectations across the function.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building across the finance team.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and business partnership.
Qualifications & Leadership Profile
- 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance executive within a multi-entity operating environment.
- Proven success leading finance organizations through periods of growth, transformation, integration, or organizational change.
- Deep expertise in financial strategy, FP&A, financial reporting, cash management, and business operations.
- Demonstrated ability to partner closely with CEOs, different ownership groups, board of directors, and executive leadership teams to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.
- Experience implementing scalable processes, reporting capabilities, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools.
- Strong understanding of inventory-driven, cost-accounting environments and operational finance.
- Experience in process manufacturing, distribution, retail and services industries preferred.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, and enterprise transformation initiatives preferred.
- Strategic, collaborative, and influential leader with strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights.
- Hands-on executive who balances strategic leadership with operational execution and fosters a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and scalability.
Education and Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.
Compensation
Form-A-Feed offers a competitive executive compensation package designed to attract and retain top leadership talent. The package includes base salary, annual incentive opportunity, and long-term equity participation.
- Base Salary: $275,000 – $325,000
- Annual Bonus Opportunity: 20%
- Benefits: Comprehensive executive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement benefits, and paid time off.
Final compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the role and organization.
