Job Role: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
KL University is seeking an accomplished and strategically oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the University's financial strategy, institutional financial governance, treasury, planning, compliance, and long-term financial sustainability. The CFO will be a key member of the University's senior leadership team and will work closely with the President, Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellors, Deans, and other senior leadership in driving financially sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA/ACA) preferred.
- Additional qualifications such as CMA, CFA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent will be an advantage.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in finance, with significant experience in senior finance leadership positions.
- Proven experience as CFO, Finance Director, Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent senior leadership role.
- Experience in managing large-scale budgets, treasury, investments, taxation, audit, financial planning, compliance, and risk management.
- Experience in a University, Higher Education Institution, large Education Group, or similarly complex multi-unit organization will be preferred.
- Strong exposure to ERP systems, financial automation, MIS, analytics, and digital transformation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Performance
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, cash-flow management, and long-term financial modelling.
- Monitor financial performance across schools, departments, campuses, projects, and business units.
- Establish robust financial MIS, dashboards, KPIs, and management reports for senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities for improved financial efficiency, resource allocation, cost optimization, and sustainable growth.
Treasury, Investments & Banking
- Oversee treasury operations, liquidity management, working capital, cash-flow planning, and institutional fund management.
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, investment advisors, and other financial stakeholders.
- Provide strategic oversight of institutional investments, financial risks, returns, and liquidity requirements.
- Evaluate financing options for major infrastructure and strategic institutional projects.
Governance, Audit & Compliance
- Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, financial policies, approval mechanisms, and risk-management frameworks.
- Oversee statutory, internal, tax, and other audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, taxation, statutory, regulatory, and higher-education requirements.
- Strengthen financial controls across procurement, payments, contracts, vendor management, and institutional expenditure.
