Job Summary
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Mid-Missouri Energy. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for all financial functions of the company, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax compliance, risk management, information technology, and regulatory reporting. As a member of the leadership team, the CFO partners with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors (BOD) to support the company's financial health, growth, and long-term strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and presents financial reports in accordance with GAAP to CEO and BOD
- Manages the Accounting and Information Technology department
- Actively engaged in risk management of company
- Assists in formulating strategic direction of company
- Ensures financial controls are in place
- Oversee external audit and tax filing
- Responsible for all sales, use, excise, feed grains, Forms 1099, and other tax reports and filings.
- Review purchase orders, accounts payable invoices and authorize payments
- Actively engaged in 45Z tax credit and prevailing wage compliance
- Responsible for accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end general ledger closings
- Responsible for cost accounting and financial analysis
- Ensuring that all federal and state clean energy compliance reporting requirements are met
- Responsible for federal and state grant/tax credit reporting
- Monitor availability of funds, margin account requirements, and other pertinent cash issues
- In-person and electronic communication with shareholders
- Review and analyze capital expenditures for ROI
- Maintains fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Oversee company payroll
- Responsible for quarterly ethanol industry benchmark reporting, analysis, and board presentation
- Work with department leaders to prepare, integrate and track information
- Complete any and all tasks assigned
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 5 years CFO or Controller experience, including management experience
- LLC / partnership federal and multistate income tax knowledge beneficial
- Commodities experience beneficial
