The Chief Revenue Officer develops a vision and provides leadership & execution for company-wide activities and strategies focused on generating, maintaining, and increasing revenue. The CRO creates strategies to integrate and align functions across the organization, including Business Development, Customer Success, Marketing, Sales & Sales Support, to achieve revenue targets and grow demand for the company's products and services. Moreover, the CRO is a strategic partner with an eye towards long-term revenue strategy.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
Execute the sales and marketing plan:
- Sales
- Maintain an active role in overseeing sales including relationship building, community engagement, presentations and networking, lead generation,site visits, proposal generation, follow-ups, contract negotiations and closing.
- Work with the Sales Director to motivate, energize, develop, and manage the sales & marketing staff.
- Improve the performance of individual salespeople.
- Create and manage the sales team budget.
- Own the tracking, accountability and forecasting of your team’s sales pipeline.
- Understand and manage RFPs and processes related to the sales team.
- Use existing customers to drive referrals and leads.
- Marketing Team
- Oversee the strategic development of marketing campaigns, including the design, tracking, results reporting, analysis, and implementation.
- Understand and utilize key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide key performance indicators, including campaign activity results, ad spend, and forecasts.
- Customer Success
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and subscribers.
- Ensure process for customer management is followed.
- Use existing customer base to create referrals and generate leads.
- General Execution
- Maintain a high-level understanding of all operations (permitting, construction, finance).
- Lead interactions with Finance, Project Development, Construction, and Management to help efficiently advance the NES initiatives.
- Drive continuous process improvement.
- Ensure that you and your team are on top of all that is solar in our markets: programs, legislation, news, competitors, and projects in development.
- Sales Strategy
- Working with the leadership team, develop and manage a revenue plan that demonstrates realistic but aggressive growth.
- Develop go-to market strategies for new business lines and locations.
- Lead the development of the marketing strategy for inbound leads and lead generation to drive sales growth.
- People Management
- Motivate, develop, and manage staff.
- Improve the performance of individual sales people.
- Oversee several sales associates, manage the training of new team members, and develop and implement sales processes to increase effectiveness.
- Ensure the team lives the company values.
- Create action plans for each sales team member.
- Oversee the training and development of the team utilizing the company’s values and pillars.
- Oversee weekly sales management meetings and one-on-ones with the Sales Director.
- Budget and approve travel and marketing expenses.
- Develop and maintain the integrity of the company’s brand.
- Execute the Business Development plan:
- Work with the Business Development team to:
- Find Solar Projects to purchase at attractive returns.
- Find Partners for Joint Ventures where they bring the projects.
- Find EPC work where Novel can generate profit.
- Serve as the lead negotiator of MIPAs, EPC contracts, LNTP Sales, and other commercial agreements.
- Ensure alignment and understanding of the different business areas during any negotiation.
