As Buyhatke continues to scale in India and expand into international markets, we are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our finance function and play a strategic role in shaping the company's next phase of growth.
About the Role:
As the Chief Financial Officer, you will own the overall financial strategy and operations of Buyhatke and work closely with the founders on business planning, financial decision-making, capital strategy, risk management, and international expansion.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in finance leadership, with meaningful experience working with startups, high-growth technology companies, or businesses operating across multiple geographies.
Experience managing financial operations across India, the US, and European markets will be highly valuable, particularly for someone who understands the complexities of cross-border businesses, international taxation, compliance, reporting, and financial structures.
This is a high-ownership leadership role where you will be expected to build a strong financial foundation while also acting as a strategic business partner to the founders and leadership team.
What You'll do:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute Buyhatke's overall financial strategy in line with the company's growth and international expansion plans.
- Work closely with the founders and leadership team on strategic business decisions, investments, expansion plans, and long-term financial planning.
- Establish financial frameworks that enable sustainable and profitable growth.
- Provide data-driven financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Financial Planning & Performance
- Own annual budgets, forecasts, financial models, and long-term business plans.
- Track and analyze key financial metrics including revenue, gross margins, contribution margins, EBITDA, cash flow, CAC, LTV, and unit economics.
- Establish strong financial reporting and MIS systems for leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and capital allocation.
- Build scenario models for new products, markets, partnerships, and business initiatives.
International Finance & Expansion
- Lead financial planning and structuring for Buyhatke's international expansion.
- Manage financial operations across India, the US, and European markets.
- Develop appropriate financial structures for international subsidiaries, entities, and operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local accounting, taxation, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
- Work with external advisors and experts on international tax, transfer pricing, cross-border transactions, and regulatory matters.
Fund Raising & Investor Relations
- Lead fundraising processes in collaboration with the founders and leadership team.
- Develop financial models, investor reports, business plans, and financial due diligence materials.
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, financial institutions, and other capital providers.
- Support valuation analysis, deal structuring, term sheet evaluation, and transaction negotiations.
- Maintain strong investor reporting and financial governance.
Accounting, Compliance & Controls
- Oversee accounting, taxation, payroll, treasury, audit, and statutory compliance functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and reporting.
- Build robust internal controls and financial governance processes.
- Lead statutory, internal, and financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian and international financial regulations.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Own cash flow planning, working capital management, and treasury operations.
- Optimize cash utilization and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations and expansion.
- Manage banking relationships and financial institutions.
- Develop appropriate controls around payments, collections, receivables, and payables.
Business Partnership
- Work closely with Product, Growth, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Business teams to evaluate the financial impact of key initiatives.
- Develop business cases and financial models for new products, markets, partnerships, and investments.
- Help leadership understand the financial implications of strategic decisions.
- Build a culture of financial discipline and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Build the Finance Function
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team as the company scales.
- Establish scalable finance processes, systems, policies, and controls.
- Leverage technology and automation to improve financial reporting, forecasting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Develop finance dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide real-time visibility into business performance.
Requirements:
- 10+ yearsof experience in Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Financial Planning & Analysis, or related fields, with significant leadership experience.
- Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance, Head of Finance, or equivalent senior finance leadership role.
- Strong experience working with startups, high-growth companies, technology businesses, or consumer internet companies.
- Experience working with businesses operating across India and international markets, particularly the US and European markets.
- Strong understanding of international accounting, taxation, compliance, cross-border transactions, and financial structuring.
- Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and business performance management.
- Strong experience with fundraising, investor management, financial due diligence, and M&A/strategic transactions.
- Strong understanding of business metrics, unit economics, revenue models, and profitability.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with founders, investors, and senior leadership.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, and constantly evolving startup environment.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to build processes and teams from the ground up.

- Experience in e-commerce, consumer internet, SaaS, marketplaces, fintech, affiliate commerce, or AI-led businesses.
- Experience taking a startup through significant growth or international expansion.
- Experience managing multiple legal entities across different countries.
- Experience with international fundraising and institutional investors.
- Experience working with US GAAP, IFRS, or other international financial reporting frameworks.
- Experience with financial systems, ERP implementation, automation, and data-driven finance operations.
- Prior experience in a founder-led or venture-backed organization.
