We are searching for a Chief Financial Offer who is a dynamic individual and seeks a leadership role in a small, nimble, well-established company that hasn’t lost entrepreneurial spirit.
About the Role
The CFO will be a key member of Rugged Science Executive Management team. The CFO's primary responsibility is planning, implementing, managing, and overseeing all financial activities of the company, including accounting, forecasting, job costing, contract compliance, and private and institutional financing.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the monthly closing process and preparation of all financial reports
- Manages general ledger reconciliations and incurred cost calculations
- Maintains DCAA relationships
- Prepares bank compliance packages and leads loan negotiations
- Leads special projects and ad hoc reporting/analysis as needed, supporting the Executive Management Team with insights for optimal business decision-making
- Takes a hands-on lead role, in coordination with the Director of Manufacturing, to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive job cost system through the company's ERP system (Global Shop)
- Directs and oversees all aspects of contracts compliance, including ITAR, SAM.gov company registrations, and responses related to company quality systems
- Directs and oversees all aspects of Human Resources
Required Qualifications
- MBA in Finance and/or CPA
- 8+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in government contracting
- Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, DFARs, CAS, Sales & Use Taxes, Income Taxation
- Managerial experience to include management of 401(k) plan
- Strong negotiation skills
