Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Beaumont, TX | 100% Onsite
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Full Time 40+ hours per week.
Overview
Our client, a well known non-profit within the Dallas region, is targeting an astute and confident Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company’s accounting and financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance executive as well as a high-performing Controller, Accounting Manager, or Finance Manager who is ready to take the next step into an executive leadership role. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting foundation, strategic financial insight, and a hands-on leadership approach to support continued growth and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to executive leadership.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial analysis and insight to improve operational performance.
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
- Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, financing activities, and the company's overall financial health.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Partner with executive leadership to provide financial guidance related to business decisions, investments, and growth initiatives.
- Manage external audits, tax filings, banking relationships, and outside financial advisors.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Active CPA required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Prior CFO experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial administration, budgeting and planning, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial analysis required.
- Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems required.
