Spearpoint is an innovative Australian defence and tactical equipment supplier entering an exciting phase of growth. As the organisation continues to scale, an opportunity exists for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership while supporting the founder's vision and long-term business objectives. Working closely with the Founder and General Manager, the successful candidate will provide high-level financial advice that improves business performance and supports informed decision-making.
The Chief Financial Officer’s duties will include cash flow forecasting, financial planning, budgeting, working capital management and the development of financial models that support growth, investment opportunities and commercial strategy. You will play a key role in strengthening management reporting, improving profitability and margin visibility, supporting funding requirements, and enhancing financial governance and risk management. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping build financial capability across the organisation while maintaining the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a successful growing business.
The ideal candidate will bring previous CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a growing SME environment, supported by CA/CPA qualifications or equivalent practical experience. Commercially astute, pragmatic and collaborative, you will be able to translate financial information into practical business outcomes, demonstrate a strong can-do attitude, and take a hands-on approach to supporting Spearpoint’s financial success.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, defence, technology or project-based businesses will be highly regarded. You must also be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for security clearance.
