We are seeking an operational, growth-minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead both our strategic growth and core controllership functions. Partnering closely with the CEO, the CFO will serve as a commercial thought leader while maintaining strict hands-on command over accounting, internal controls, and compliance. This role requires driving EBITDA expansion and positioning the business for a high-value exit within a 3-to-5-year horizon, while ensuring pristine, audit-ready financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Value Creation: Translate the PE sponsor’s investment thesis into an actionable financial road map. Identify expansion levers, drive pricing discipline, and optimize cost structures to maximize EBITDA margins.
- Accounting Operations & Financial Control: Direct all core controllership functions, including general ledger maintenance, revenue recognition, monthly close cycles, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Month-End & Year-End Close Acceleration: Drive a fast-close process (5-day close target) to provide reliable, accrual-based GAAP financial statements to executive leadership and PE sponsors.
- Investor & Lender Relations: Lead communications with the PE sponsor, Board of Directors, and external lenders. Manage debt covenants, credit facilities, and leverage ratios to maintain operational flexibility.
- Internal Controls & Audit Management: Establish robust internal controls, governance policies, and risk management frameworks to safeguard assets. Manage the relationship with external audit firms to ensure clean Annual Audits and Quality of Earnings (QofE) reports.
- 13-Week Cash Flow & Forecasting: Implement forward-looking financial planning & analysis (FP&A), rolling 13-week cash forecasting models, and proactive working capital/treasury management.
- Systems Transformation & BI: Modernize financial infrastructure, ERP platforms, and data analytics. Establish automated KPI dashboards to provide continuous clarity across unit economics.
- Exit Readiness: Quarterback preparation for liquidity events (sale to strategic/PE buyer or IPO). Oversee CIM preparation, QofE audits, data room creation, and buyer engagement.
Qualifications & PE-Specific Requirements
- PE Track Record & Leadership: Minimum 3–5 years as CFO, Controller, or VP of Finance in a PE-backed portfolio company (strongly preferred).
- Technical Mastery: CPA and/or Master’s degree in Accounting; proven capability to bridge hands-on accounting controls with high-level capital strategy.
- Financial Governance: Proven mastery of levered capital structures, debt compliance, GAAP revenue recognition, and tight working capital management.
- Pace & Mentality: High-urgency executive who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments with a blend of strategic vision and meticulous attention to financial detail.
