Business Manager/CFO to support continued growth and oversee financial and administrative operations.
Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
Business Manager/CFO with strong experience in accounting, human resources, and business operations. This position will oversee financial performance, administrative functions, and strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a 2-4-person administrative team responsible for bookkeeping, accounting, finance, HR, and other administrative functions.
- Delegate and oversee tasks while establishing proper checks and balances and ensuring cross-training across administrative functions.
- Oversee day-to-day business operations, including budgeting, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Work with external accountants as needed.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, including timely billing and collections.
- Monitor project budgets and job costing to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Lead HR functions, including 401(k) management, health insurance, hiring, onboarding, and compliance tracking.
- Work with leadership on business development, vendor contracts, and operational planning.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to construction and finance.
- Manage sales tax administration for gravel sales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 3-5+ years of experience in business or financial management; construction industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, budgeting, and financial management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to independently identify solutions, collaborate with management, evaluate available information, and make sound business decisions.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Property management experience is preferred, including lease administration, tenant management, collections, utilities, and repairs.
