About the Opportunity
We are leading a confidential search for an accomplished Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a high-growth, multi-vertical business operating within the life sciences and consumer health space.
The organisation is entering a pivotal stage of development and is seeking a CFO who combines technical accounting depth, Canadian and U.S. public-market experience, capital-markets credibility and strong operational judgement.
Working closely with the CEO, Board and Audit Committee, the successful candidate will lead the organisation’s financial strategy, reporting, governance, capital planning and finance operations while helping build the infrastructure required for its next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting, Governance & Public Markets
- Lead financial reporting across IFRS and U.S. GAAP, including consolidations, revenue recognition, equity compensation, acquisitions, licensing arrangements and complex financing transactions.
- Oversee quarterly and annual reporting and ensure compliance with relevant Canadian and U.S. securities-reporting requirements.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Nasdaq, SEC, SEDAR+ and EDGAR requirements and support the organisation’s continued public-market development.
- Partner with PCAOB-registered auditors and oversee annual audits, quarterly reviews and technical accounting matters.
- Establish and maintain appropriate disclosure controls and internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX readiness.
- Present financial, reporting and governance matters to the Board and Audit Committee.
Capital Markets & Strategic Finance
- Support equity and debt financings, institutional investor due diligence and key banking relationships.
- Partner with the CEO on investor-relations activity and represent the finance function in analyst, investor and other public-facing discussions.
- Lead financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, cash management and long-term capital planning.
- Provide financial insight and commercial challenge to support strategic decision-making across a high-growth, multi-vertical business.
M&A & Finance Function Development
- Provide financial leadership across acquisitions, strategic transactions and post-transaction integrations.
- Build and lead a scalable finance organisation, strengthening internal systems, reporting processes and capabilities while reducing reliance on outsourced accounting functions.
What We’re Looking For
âś… Must-Haves
- Significant experience as a Chief Financial Officer or equivalent senior finance leader.
- Strong public-company or public-market-facing experience.
- Advanced technical accounting expertise across IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
- Experience across Canadian and U.S. securities reporting, including strong knowledge of Nasdaq and SEC requirements.
- Experience working with Boards, Audit Committees and PCAOB-registered auditors.
- Strong capital-markets experience, including equity and/or debt financing.
- Demonstrated experience across M&A and business integration.
- Proven ability to build and scale a finance function within a growing organisation.
- Strong financial planning, forecasting and capital-management capabilities.
- Professional designation such as CA/CPA and/or CFA.
- Exceptional communication and public-speaking capability.

Location
North America, with flexibility around the precise location for the right candidate.
Candidates should be comfortable working across Canadian and U.S. stakeholders and travelling as required for Board, investor and operational activity.
