We have been engaged to assist our client BLOCS (Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools) in its search for a Chief Financial Officer. For more than 45 years, BLOCS has been one of Pennsylvania's premier scholarship organizations, partnering with more than 500 schools to provide educational opportunities for over 33,000 students annually. Through Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs, BLOCS is on track to raise more than $250 million annually to support scholarships for students and families across the Commonwealth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic leadership across finance, accounting, treasury, financial planning, investments, internal controls, and administrative operations. The role partners closely with an engaged Board of Directors and oversees relationships with investment advisors, auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies while helping drive the organization's continued growth and long-term financial sustainability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required. MBA/CPA preferred. Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting and finance, with at least 8 years in a management role.
- Experience leading complex financial operations, preferably within financial services, wealth management, banking, asset management, trust administration, family office, specialty finance, or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, or mission-driven organizations is beneficial but not required.
- Track record of successful experience working with a Board of Directors/Trustees/Committees and/or other similar entities.
- Familiarity with LLC entities and K-1 tax form reporting.
