Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site role based in Hagerstown, MD, responsible for overseeing all financial activities of Spichers Appliances and Security. The CFO will manage budgeting and forecasting, monitor cash flow, and ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports. This role includes developing financial strategies to support growth, analyzing business performance, and advising senior leadership on financial risks and opportunities. The CFO will oversee accounting operations, payroll, coordinate audits, maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and implement financial controls and policies. The position also involves collaborating with other leaders on pricing, capital investments, and operational improvements, while leading and mentoring finance and accounting team members.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong finance, financial planning, and budgeting skills to support strategic decision-making and long-term business growth.
- Candidates should possess expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
- Candidates should possess advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and recommend data-informed actions.
- Extensive experience in corporate finance leadership, preferably in retail, distribution, or closely related industries.
- Proficiency with accounting software, financial modeling tools, and spreadsheet software.
- Excellent managerial and financial skills and the ability to take leadership over in any business operations area.
- Superlative communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as a leader.
- Ten years or more of related experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is required; CPA, CMA, or MBA is highly beneficial.
Salary Range & Benefits
- $100,000 - $118,000 depending on expertise
