Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site position based at the NVCSS corporate office in Redding, CA. The CFO oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, cash flow management, and development of financial policies and procedures. This role manages the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports, ensures compliance with regulatory and contract requirements, and supports funding applications and grant reporting. The CFO collaborates with executive leadership and program directors to align financial strategies with agency goals, provides financial guidance to the Board of Directors, and supervises the finance team. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring financial performance across multiple programs and counties, improving internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making to sustain and grow services.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Finance and Financial Planning skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, with experience in multi-source, contract-based, and non-profit funding environments.
- Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, assess program performance, and support strategic decisions.
- Extensive experience in senior financial leadership roles, preferably in non-profit or human services organizations.
- Knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and grant or contract management requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting and financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities, including managing and developing finance staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; CPA or relevant advanced degree is highly beneficial.
