The CFO will provide strategic and operational leadership for the financial health, sustainability, and performance of LCCR and its related business operations. This position serves as a key business partner to the Chief Executive Officer, executive leadership, Tribal leadership, and organizational stakeholders, providing accurate, timely, and actionable financial insight to support sound business decisions.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial leader who can balance strategic vision with strong operational execution and who thrives in a complex, highly regulated gaming, hospitality, entertainment, and resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Executive Leadership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, Tribal leadership, and organizational stakeholders on financial, operational, and strategic matters.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Participate in strategic planning and major business decisions, including capital investments, expansions, acquisitions, partnerships, and other significant financial commitments.
- Evaluate financial and operational performance and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
- Promote a culture of accountability, financial stewardship, transparency, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Develop and maintain operating forecasts, cash flow projections, capital plans, and other financial models.
- Oversee monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial dashboards.
- Monitor liquidity, cash flow, and financial resources to support current and future organizational needs.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations for capital expenditures, business initiatives, and strategic opportunities.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Provide executive oversight of accounting operations and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial records and reporting.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Ensure accurate financial statements, management reports, and other financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for significant accounting issues and financial discrepancies.
Treasury, Cash & Capital Management
- Provide executive oversight of treasury and cash management activities.
- Manage banking relationships and work with lenders, investment advisors, and other financial institutions.
- Oversee financing activities, debt management, loan covenants, and other financial obligations.
- Review and approve significant financial transactions in accordance with organizational policies and delegated authority.
Audit, Compliance & Risk Management
- Provide executive oversight of internal and external audit activities.
- Ensure timely completion of annual audits and required financial reporting.
- Oversee applicable tax and financial compliance requirements.
- Establish and continuously evaluate internal controls designed to safeguard organizational assets and ensure reliable financial information.
- Ensure financial operations comply with applicable Tribal, federal, state, regulatory, gaming, and organizational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) requirements, Tribal Gaming Commission requirements, Tribal-State Compact requirements, and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
- Identify and mitigate financial, operational, compliance, and enterprise risks.
Gaming & Tribal Financial Operations
- Provide financial leadership within a complex tribal gaming and hospitality environment.
- Maintain a strong understanding of gaming accounting, financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and internal controls applicable to tribal gaming operations.
- Collaborate with Tribal leadership, Tribal partners, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders on financial and gaming-related matters.
Corporate Development & Business Partnerships
- Represent LCCR with lenders, investment advisors, auditors, financial institutions, potential investors, and other external partners.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations related to investments, acquisitions, partnerships, expansions, and other strategic opportunities.
- Support due diligence and financial analysis for potential business opportunities.
- Develop financial models, reports, and presentations for executive and Tribal leadership, advisors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
Contracts, Insurance & Real Estate
- Provide executive oversight of the organization's insurance program in coordination with appropriate Tribal and legal resources.
- Oversee financial aspects of leases, equipment agreements, gaming device agreements, and other significant contractual arrangements.
- Evaluate financial risks and obligations associated with major contracts and agreements.
Financial Systems & Process Improvement
- Provide leadership in the effective use and development of financial systems, reporting platforms, and technology.
- Partner with Information Technology and other stakeholders on financial system implementation, integration, security, and optimization.
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve financial processes.
- Promote the use of data, analytics, forecasting tools, and technology to strengthen financial decision-making.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Finance Department leaders and team members.
- Establish clear expectations, performance standards, goals, and accountability.
- Recruit, develop, and retain highly qualified financial professionals.
- Foster a collaborative, service-oriented, and high-performing team environment.
- Develop succession planning and professional growth opportunities within the Finance Department.
- Partner with leaders throughout the organization to resolve issues and improve business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including significant experience in a senior financial leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance and accounting functions within a complex organization, preferably in gaming, hospitality, Tribal enterprise, or another highly regulated environment.
- Significant experience with financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, audit management, and risk management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gaming-related accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting requirements, including applicable NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards.
- Experience partnering with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies supporting operational performance and long-term business objectives.
- Strong ability to analyze complex financial and operational information, identify trends and risks, and translate financial data into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining effective financial controls, policies, procedures, and business processes.
- Experience with financial, accounting, ERP, and other business technology systems, including partnering with IT on system implementation, integration, and optimization.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including developing high-performing teams, managing subordinate leaders, and fostering accountability and professional growth.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
- Previous experience as a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, Vice President of Finance, or equivalent senior financial executive.
- Experience working within a Tribal government, Tribal enterprise, casino, resort, or gaming organization.
- Experience working with Tribal leadership, Tribal Council, governmental entities, financial institutions, lenders, auditors, investment advisors, and other external stakeholders.
- Experience with capital planning, debt financing, investment management, corporate development, acquisitions, or other strategic financial initiatives.

Gaming License: This position requires a Class III gaming license issued by the Washington State Gambling Commission.
