Description
The Operations Leader is responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all core business operations. This role requires strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of business processes to lead teams and optimize performance. The Operations Leader plays a key role in executing the company's goals, improving productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals.
- Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and KPIs for operational performance.
- Lead initiatives to scale operations sustainably and efficiently.
- Process Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across departments.
- Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and ensure adherence.
- Monitor workflows and propose automation or technology solutions where appropriate.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor department managers and cross-functional teams.
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff.
- Promote a positive, accountable, and high-performance culture.
- Vendor & Partner Management
- Oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage service level agreements.
- Ensure vendor compliance with operational standards and risk mitigation protocols.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to industry standards.
- Identify potential risks to operations and develop contingency plans.
- Data & Reporting
- Analyze operational data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Provide regular reports to executive leadership on key performance indicators.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in operations or related roles.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing teams and complex projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in ERP systems, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) communication skills preferred.
- Experience in construction management and logistics.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP certification.
- Experience with organizational change management.
