Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site role based in Sans Souci, SC, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of LUCELEC. The CFO leads financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making. Daily responsibilities include managing accounting and treasury functions, monitoring cash flow, ensuring robust internal controls, and maintaining compliance with regulatory, tax, and financial reporting requirements. The CFO collaborates with the executive team on long-term strategy, capital investment decisions, risk management, and funding initiatives, and presents financial performance and recommendations to the Board of Directors. The role also involves leading and mentoring the finance team, optimizing financial systems and processes, and supporting initiatives that enhance organizational efficiency, sustainability, and stakeholder value.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency in accounting standards, auditing practices, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, corporate finance, and capital structure optimization.
- Leadership skills in managing finance teams, developing talent, and fostering collaborative work environments.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to executive leadership, the Board, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in the utilities, energy, or infrastructure sector is highly beneficial.
- Advanced proficiency with financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analysis tools.
- Relevant professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent, and a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is an asset.
- Proven track record of supporting organizational sustainability, risk management, and long-term value creation.
