Blair West is supporting Resulting IT in the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer. Resulting IT is a private equity-backed, independent SAP consultancy that works client-side to help organisations plan, govern and deliver successful S/4HANA programmes. The business combines established expertise in SAP road mapping, business-case development, programme delivery and value realisation with S4SensAI, its Agentic AI platform built specifically for SAP customers.
With a growing US presence and ambitions to materially scale EBITDA ahead of a potential transaction in the next 18–24 months, Resulting IT is strengthening its senior leadership team with the appointment of an experienced CFO.
Reporting to the Founder-CEO and working closely with the Board, YFM and an established Financial Controller, the CFO will be a commercially focused partner to the business. They will strengthen financial discipline, improve forecasting and forward-looking performance visibility, support scalable growth and help maximise shareholder value through the next stage of the company’s development.
The opportunity:
- Partner closely with the CEO, Board and investors, providing the commercial challenge, financial insight and forward-looking perspective required to deliver the business plan.
- Own forecasting and commercial performance, creating greater visibility across revenue, pipeline, utilisation, margins, cash conversion and the key drivers of EBITDA.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and eliminate revenue leakage, working directly with sales, delivery and practice leaders to turn insight into measurable action.
- Strengthen pricing and deal discipline, challenging rates, discounting, commercial terms and project economics while supporting major negotiations and renewals.
- Develop a rigorous value-creation plan, identifying and prioritising initiatives across growth, margin improvement, cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
- Build greater accountability across the business through meaningful KPIs, granular budgets and proactive performance management.
- Lead the financial and commercial elements of exit readiness, including investor communications, due diligence, quality of earnings preparation and the development of a robust, evidence-based equity story.
- Work alongside and mentor the Financial Controller, allowing them to continue owning a strong financial control environment while developing their broader commercial and leadership capability.
- Support the evolution of Resulting IT’s business model as traditional project-based consulting is complemented by recurring revenues from new AI-enabled products and services.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Previous experience as a CFO or FD (No.1) within a private equity-backed business.
- Direct exposure to a successful transaction or exit, with a clear understanding of what is required to build value and prepare a business for buyer scrutiny.
- Experience within consulting or professional services, with a strong understanding of project economics, utilisation, resource planning and the commercial dynamics of people-led businesses.
- A track record of using financial and operational insight to improve revenue quality, margins, EBITDA and overall business performance.
- Strong commercial judgement, with experience influencing pricing, sales decisions, contracts and major customer opportunities.
- The credibility to operate confidently with founders, investors and Boards while being comfortable constructively challenging senior stakeholders.
- Excellent forecasting and analytical capability, with the ability to identify emerging risks and opportunities before they materially impact performance.
- A hands-on leadership style and the ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial business where pace, adaptability and personal accountability matter.
- Exposure to technology, IT consultancy, SAP or SaaS/recurring revenue models would be advantageous, although understanding the economics of a consultancy environment is more important.
The benefits included with this opportunity:
- A meaningful equity opportunity through Resulting's share option arrangements, providing the potential to participate directly in value created ahead of a future transaction.
- Vitality private healthcare from day one, including physical, mental health, dental and optical benefits for the individual and their family.
- Company-funded life insurance and unlimited 24/7 virtual GP access.
- Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, alongside savings on bikes and technology.
- Flexible hybrid working and the ability to purchase additional annual leave.
