Tacton CPQ Configuration Expert -
Project Overview
- Implementing a new CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) capability using Tacton CPQ.
- This engagement will support Kris and his team throughout a multi-phase implementation.
- Project consists of four phases, with the organization currently in Phase 1.
- The implementation is already underway and has recently completed its first sprint, delivering fully tested business capabilities.
Need / Business Challenge
- Looking specifically for a Tacton CPQ SME.
- Candidates with Salesforce CPQ or other CPQ platform experience are not a fit unless they have direct Tacton experience.
- Need someone who can:
- Partner closely with the business.
- Configure and customize the Tacton platform.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with Tacton, who is acting as the implementation partner.
- Mentor and upskill internal team members who possess business knowledge but lack deep technical Tacton expertise.

Current CPQ team consists of:
- Architect / Product Manager
- CPQ Specialist
- Business Analyst
- Adding: Tacton Configuration Expert
Project Roadmap
- Currently midway through implementation.
- First sprint has been completed successfully.
- Next steps:
- Launch a production pilot with a small group of plants.
- Expand rollout across additional facilities.
- Focus on optimization and expanded capabilities as adoption grows.
- In approximately 3-4 months, Kris will determine whether to:
- Build an internal Tacton configuration team, or
- Continue leveraging Tacton as the implementation partner long term.
User Base
- Initial rollout: 2 plants with roughly 10 users.
- Long-term goal: Expand nationally across all plants and users.
Contract Details
- Estimated duration: 12+ month contract
- Strong potential for conversion to a permanent role.
- Viewed as a long-term strategic need.
Location / Travel
- Remote candidates are acceptable.
- Preference for candidates willing to travel periodically.
- Travel will become more important during rollout and adoption phases when in-person plant support is needed.
