Role Description The Business Operations Officer is a full-time, on-site role located at Fort Bliss, TX, responsible for overseeing and optimizing business and administrative operations that support installation management activities. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring budgets, analyzing operational performance, preparing reports and briefings, and recommending process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness. The role coordinates with garrison leadership and cross-functional teams to align business operations with strategic objectives, ensures compliance with applicable regulations and policies, and supports planning and execution of key initiatives. The Business Operations Officer also develops and maintains standard operating procedures, tracks metrics, and assists in resource allocation, contract oversight, and stakeholder communication.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in business operations, process improvement, and organizational planning, with the ability to analyze workflows and recommend practical enhancements.
- Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and resource management to support informed decision-making and responsible stewardship of funds.
- Strong capabilities in data analysis, reporting, and use of office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, presentation software) to produce accurate and timely information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, brief leadership, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Competence in project coordination or project management, including setting priorities, tracking milestones, and meeting deadlines in a structured environment.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn federal or Department of Defense policies, procedures, and compliance requirements related to installation management and business operations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered where appropriate.
- Prior experience in government, military, or large complex organizations is beneficial, especially in roles involving operations or administrative oversight.
