Chief Financial Officer
Community Health Center of Central Missouri (CHCCMO) is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our senior leadership team.

The CFO will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's long-term financial strength, sustainability, compliance, and continued ability to fulfill our mission.
The CFO will serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership across the organization. This position will oversee financial strategy and planning, accounting, budgeting, revenue cycle management, grants administration, payroll, audits, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the organization's overall financial strategy, including long-term financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Provide the CEO, Board of Directors, and leadership team with timely and meaningful financial information to support informed decision-making.
- Develop and monitor financial plans that support CHCCMO's mission, strategic priorities, growth opportunities, and community needs.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance, improve operational efficiency, and support the organization's long-term sustainability.
- Monitor financial performance and key indicators, providing recommendations and corrective strategies when needed.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with HRSA requirements, FQHC regulations, and applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Provide oversight of financial compliance related to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, and other reimbursement programs.
- Maintain knowledge of FQHC reimbursement methodologies and requirements.
- Provide financial oversight of the 340B Drug Pricing Program and ensure appropriate compliance and reporting.
- Coordinate and oversee financial audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
- Maintain appropriate internal controls and financial policies and procedures.
Revenue Cycle Management
- Provide strategic oversight of the organization's revenue cycle and reimbursement processes.
- Oversee billing, coding, claims submission, collections, reimbursement, and accounts receivable.
- Monitor key revenue cycle performance indicators, including denial rates, clean claim rates, days in accounts receivable, and net collections.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue cycle performance and reduce revenue leakage.
- Analyze payer contracts and reimbursement arrangements and make recommendations regarding financial performance and sustainability.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Provide leadership and oversight of accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls and processes.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against approved budgets.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the organization's financial records.
Grants & Program Financial Management
- Provide oversight of grant accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for federal, state, and local funding sources.
- Work collaboratively with leadership and program staff to ensure grant expenditures are appropriately monitored and reported.
- Evaluate the financial sustainability of new programs, service lines, partnerships, and other strategic opportunities.
- Provide financial guidance related to grant applications, program development, and expansion initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in healthcare financial management, preferably within an FQHC or similar healthcare organization.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Knowledge of HRSA requirements and FQHC financial and reimbursement requirements.
- Experience with revenue cycle management, budgeting, financial reporting, and financial forecasting.
- Experience with federal, state, or local grant accounting and compliance.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and staff across the organization.
Preferred:
- CPA, Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), or other relevant healthcare finance certification.
- Experience with the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
- Previous experience serving in a senior financial leadership role within an FQHC or other community health organization.
- Experience with healthcare payer contract analysis and reimbursement negotiations.
